S&K Federal Services awarded DOE contract for technical services at nuclear energy sites
St. Ignatius, Montana – S&K Federal Services, LLC, was awarded a technical support services contract by the Department of Energy (DOE), Office of Environmental Management. The contract is valued at $22 million with a 5-year ordering period of performance.
The Office of Environmental Management works to “address the nation’s Cold War environmental legacy resulting from five decades of nuclear weapons production and government-sponsored nuclear energy research. This legacy includes some of the world’s most dangerous radioactive sites with large amounts of radioactive wastes, spent nuclear fuel, excess plutonium and uranium, thousands of contaminated facilities, and contaminated soil and groundwater.” They manage 107 sites around the country and S&K employees will work at approximately seven of these locations.
“We are excited at the opportunity to provide S&K-Level expertise in quality assurance, safety, and waste management to their mission,” said Ken Gray, VP of Operations at S&K Federal Services. “This continues our more than 12 years supporting DOE in the area of environmental remediation. We are eager to start on this important work.”
